Privacy Policy

CCG-LR is an offline ballistic companion app. It runs entirely on your device and does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers. This policy explains that, consistent with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. The short version

The app works fully offline. Your rifle/load profiles, DOPE logs, settings and any target/wind photos stay on your device.
We do not collect any personal information. Nothing you enter leaves your phone.
We have no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no trackers. We do not sell data because we never receive any.

2. Information stored on your device (only)

Profiles & ballistic data: rifle, scope, load, muzzle velocity, zero, DOPE.
App settings & preferences.
Photos you take for target-group or wind-sock measurement — used on-device for that measurement only. They are never uploaded.
This data lives in the app's private, sandboxed storage on your device, protected by your device's own operating-system security (app sandboxing, and — on a passcode-protected device — the OS's built-in file encryption). We never receive or hold a copy.

3. Course-code unlock

The full app is unlocked by entering a course code you receive when you buy the Cap Coast Gunsmithing course. That code is checked on your device only — it is not sent anywhere, and redeeming it creates no account and transmits no data.

4. Permissions we request

Camera / Photos — only to capture or pick a target group or wind sock for a correction or group measurement. We access only the photo you choose, only on your device, and never upload it.

5. What we do NOT do

No accounts, sign-in, or cloud services.
No advertising SDKs or third-party ad tracking; no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
No analytics or crash/usage collection.
No location collection (atmospheric inputs are entered manually or via presets).
No sale or sharing of personal information.

6. Minors

CCG-LR concerns lawful firearm use and is not directed at minors. It is intended for licensed shooters and course participants.

7. Your data & your choices

Your data remains on your device until you delete it in-app, restore a backup, or uninstall the app (uninstalling removes it).
You can export/back up your data to a file from Settings at any time, and restore it on another device — this transfer happens directly through your own device and file storage, never through us.

8. Overseas storage

None. Because we collect no data, nothing is stored or processed by us, in Australia or overseas.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be noted in-app and by updating the "Last updated" date.
